Troubleshooting ping and lag

This guide will teach you how to get the information necessary for us to troubleshoot any lag latency issues you may be having.

 

XP users click start run and type cmd instead of putting it in the search box.

Ping count

  • We requre a 300 base ping count to get a small snapshot of your network performance. To do this:
  • Click start and then in the search box type cmd and press enter
  • Once the black box with writing in it has appeared type the following command ping 0.0.0.0/1.voicemonsters.com -n 300
  • cmdpingvista
  • This will take a few minutes to complete once it has stopped copy the bottom summary lines that look like this:
  • cmdpingvista2
  • Next we need a trace route aka a tracert to do that follow the same steps as above to open the black cmd window and type tracert 0.0.0.0/1.voicemonsters.com
  • cmdtracertvista

Also provide your ip address and your ISP put all these details in a support ticket and we will pass it onto our network engineers to investigate.
